Greek Meatball Gyros

These Greek meatball gyros are loaded with all your favorite Mediterranean flavors and baked in the oven, which means you’ll get perfectly round meatballs with just 10 minutes of prep time and 15 minutes of hands-off cook time!



  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons milk (pour over breadcrumbs)
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon zest
  • 1 egg
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • Kosher salt
  • fresh cracked pepper

Serve with:

  • pita bread
  • yogurt sauce
  • sliced onion
  • sliced cucumber
  • fresh chopped dill


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Use hands to combine beef, red onion, breadcrumbs, milk, parsley, feta, lemon zest, egg, garlic, oregano and a large pinch of salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Place a cooling rack on top of parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Use a tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop 32 meatballs and place them on the cooling rack.
  5. Lightly oil your hands and gently roll the meatballs so they are all uniformly round.
  6. Bake for about 12-14 minutes or until nearly cooked through.
  7. Broil for another 1-2 minutes to finish cooking the inside and lightly brown the outside.
  8. Serve with pita bread, yogurt sauce, red onion and cucumber.
