These cheesy Big Mac sliders take comfort food to the next level. Sweet Hawaiian rolls are layered with seasoned ground beef and melted American cheese then topped with fresh lettuce, pickles, onions, and a dollop of creamy Big Mac sauce. This is a crowd-pleasing dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes!

Instructions

  1. Heat a large cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, crumbling with a spatula until browned and cooked through. Drain off excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a couple large pinches of salt and pepper until well combined.
  2. While the meat is cooking slice the rolls in half, keeping them together in a slab. Place each half, cut side up, on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and broil for 1-2 minutes or until the cut sides of the rolls get a little crispy and just start to brown. Then turn oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Add seasoned ground beef to the bottom slab of rolls in a single layer. Then add slices of cheese in a single layer.
  4. Flip the top bun slab over and brush the tops of the slider buns with butter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Top cheese and meat with lettuce, pickles, and onion. Then dollop and drizzle with Big Mac sauce. Place sesame seed slab of buns on top, slice into sliders, and serve!

Notes

  • Drain the ground beef after browning! I don’t often recommend draining the grease off ground beef because it has tons of flavor. However, for this recipe, it’s important that the grease is drained off so that it doesn’t make the slider buns soggy.
  • Broil the slider buns! A quick broil is the perfect way to crisp up the inside of the buns and prevent them from getting soggy when you add the meat and cheese.
  • Layer the beef first and then the cheese! To prevent the ground beef from falling out of the sliders, it’s important to layer the ground beef first and then top it with the slices of cheese. Then the cheese melts into the meat AND holds it in place after you top it with the lettuce, pickles, and onions.
  • Add more cheese if you want! If you want super cheesy sliders, add another layer of cheese underneath the meat so that it’s enveloped in melty cheese.
  • Double the meat! If you’re looking for a meaty meal, double the beef and the garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. This will give you a thicker, heartier layer of meat. Be sure to drain the grease off so it doesn’t make the sliders soggy.
