These easy garlic butter steak bites are cooked to perfection and tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce. Ready in under 20 minutes, they’re the perfect quick and flavorful dinner or appetizer!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 pounds steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley for garnish
  • Kosher salt
  • fresh cracked pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak pieces dry with paper towel to ensure a good sear. Season on all sides with smoked paprika, onion powder, and a few large pinches of salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large saute pan or large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add half the steak pieces in a single layer to the hot pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side or until a dark golden brown crust forms and the steak is cooked to your desired doneness. Remove steak bites from the pan and set aside. Cook the remaining steak bites in the same fashion using the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and then set aside.
  4. Without wiping out the pan, reduce heat to medium-low or low. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring frequently, scraping up any browned bits off the bottom of the pan. Don’t let the garlic burn or get brown!
  5. Return the steak bites and any juices to the pan and toss them in the garlic butter sauce to coat.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

    • Cut Steak Uniformly. Cut the steak into uniform-size pieces so that it cooks evenly.

    • Hot Pan. Allow the pan ample time to heat up for the best sear on the steak.

    • Avoid Overcrowding. Cooking the steak in batches will ensure that it sears instead of steams!

    • Resting. Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking for the juiciest bites.
