- 1 pound pork breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoons paprika
- 2.5 cups half and half
- 1 (16.3 ounce) can refrigerated biscuits
- Kosher salt
- fresh cracked pepper
Instructions

Heat oven to 375 degrees and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat a large saute pan over medium heat. Add sausage and cook, crumbling with a spatula, until browned and cooked through.
- Add butter and let melt. Sprinkle in flour, Italian seasoning, rubbed sage, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and a couple large pinches of salt and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently for about a minute.
- Slowly whisk in half and half. Bring to a simmer and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes, or until the gravy thickens.
- Pour into greased 9×13 pan.
- Use a clean kitchen shears to cut the biscuits into quarters and place them in a single layer on top of the gravy.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and enjoy!

- Spice it Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper for a little heat. Or use spicy pork breakfast sausage.
