You won't believe how easy it is to make hard boiled eggs in the air fryer in less than 20 minutes!! They're a great staple to have on hand and cooking them in the air fryer makes it super easy to keep your fridge well-stocked. Use these air fryer eggs in pasta salads, sandwiches, or eat them alone as an on-the-go snack.

Notes

  • Don't skip the ice bath! If you don't have ice on hand, just use super cold water. Cooling the eggs down quickly stops the cooking process and makes the egg retract from the shell, which makes them easier to peel!
  • Run the eggs under lukewarm water while peeling. Everyone has their own tried and true way of peeling an egg, but I’ve found that peeling the egg under running water helps the shell just slip away. It also helps to make sure the shell is cracked all the way around the egg and then use the side of your thumb to gently press the shell away from the white.
  • Keep in mind that the cooking time may vary depending on the brand of air fryer you're using. I use the Instant Pot brand of air fryer called the Instant Vortex and find that 18 minutes is the sweet spot for perfectly hard boiled eggs.
  • You can cook up to a dozen eggs at a time, just make sure there is about an inch of space in between the eggs and that they're in a single layer. This will ensure that the air can circulate evenly and cook each egg through.
