Easy Slow Cooker Country Style Ribs
- So simple to make: Only a few ingredients and the slow cooker does all the work!
- Mouthwateringly good: Juicy, tender ribs with a perfectly sticky BBQ finish.
Ingredients for Country Style Ribs
- Country Style Pork Ribs: Meaty ribs that become incredibly tender in the slow cooker. You can use any style of ribs for this recipe.
- Easy Dry Rub: My homemade dry rub is an easy shortcut here, but you can use any dry rub mix.
- Barbecue Sauce: Use your favorite brand. Sweet, smoky, or spicy! Adds the base flavor for the ribs.
- Apple Cider Vinegar: Balances the sweetness of the BBQ sauce and tenderizes the meat. White wine vinegar or red wine vinegar could be used in a pinch.
- Worcestershire Sauce: Adds a rich umami depth to the sauce. Soy sauce is a good substitute.
- Yellow Mustard: Gives a tangy kick and enhances the BBQ flavor. Dijon or spicy brown mustard would also work.
How to Make Country Style Ribs
Season the ribs. Pat the ribs dry and coat them generously with the dry rub on all sides.
Add to slow cooker. Place the seasoned ribs into the crock pot in an even layer.
Mix the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Pour over the ribs.
Slow cook. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours, or until the ribs are fork-tender and easily shred.
Broil for caramelization. Carefully transfer the ribs to a foil-lined baking sheet. Broil for 1–2 minutes until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized. Watch closely to avoid burning.
Serve. Spoon any extra sauce over the top and enjoy!
