BLT Dip
This easy BLT dip comes together in about 30 minutes with simple ingredients and all the classic flavors of your favorite sandwich, but in dippable form!
Easy BLT Dip Recipe
- So quick and easy. Just mix everything together and chill for a bit before serving!
- Packed with flavor. Crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, and sharp cheddar in every bite.
Ingredients for BLT Dip
- Cream Cheese: Adds a creamy, tangy base. Use full-fat for the best flavor and texture.
- Sour Cream: Lightens the dip and adds a cool, creamy texture. You can substitute with plain Greek yogurt. Stick with full-fat here as well.
- Spices: Garlic powder and onion powder are my go-to combo to add savory flavor to this delicious BLT dip.
- Bacon: Adds salty, crispy richness. I love to use center-cut or thick-cut bacon.
- Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese: Offers bold, cheesy flavor. Swap for medium cheddar, Colby Jack, or Pepper Jack for variety.
- Cherry Tomatoes: Provide juicy bursts of freshness. Diced Roma tomatoes or grape tomatoes work too.
- Green Onion: Brings a mild onion flavor and color. Finely diced red onion could be used for a stronger flavor.
- Chives: Add a fresh, herbaceous note. You can skip this one if you don’t have any, but I love the added flavor.
How to Make BLT Dip
Mix the base. Combine cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and a few generous pinches of salt and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Stir in the mix-ins. Transfer to a large bowl and fold in cooked bacon, shredded cheddar, and half the green onions and chives.
Spread and chill. Spread the dip mixture into a shallow dish or serving platter. Chill for about 10 minutes to help it set.
Add the toppings. Top with halved cherry tomatoes and the remaining green onion and chives.
Serve and enjoy. Serve with Ruffles chips, Ritz crackers, or sliced baguette.
Tips for Making BLT Dip
- Make sure the cream cheese gets to room temperature before mixing everything together. This will ensure that it mixes thoroughly and beautifully with the other ingredients.
- Try 1-2 teaspoons of ranch seasoning instead of the garlic powder and onion powder for a slightly different flavor.
- Mix in a tablespoon or two of mayonnaise if you want some extra classic BLT flavor.
- Chill the dip for at least 10 minutes so the flavors can meld and it firms up a bit for scooping.
- For extra crunch, add a layer of sliced Romaine lettuce before you add the green onion, chives, and tomatoes.
Make-Ahead Instructions
- You can make this easy appetizer up to 24 hours in advance.
- Store it covered in the fridge without the tomato and herb toppings.
- Add those just before serving to keep everything fresh.
Storing Leftovers
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Give it a good stir before serving again.
- This dip will not freeze well and should be enjoyed fresh or within a few days.

I just read this recipe and it sounds yummy! We are BLT sandwich lovers in this house. Found the B and T but couldn’t find the L…..until I read to the very end! Will definitely be making this during the coming week and serving with crostini and crudités (ain’t I fancy now!).
The green onion kind of replaces the L in this dip. You can totally add lettuce if you want to though! I am just a huge green onion fan 🙂
